SoleTradie ("we", "us", "our") is built for Australian sole traders. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
- Account & app data: business name, ABN (if provided), client details, invoice/expense information, and app settings.
- Files you choose to add: logos or receipt images (if you attach them).
- Purchase data: subscription status and receipts via the Apple App Store / Google Play and our subscription partner RevenueCat.
- Support communications: messages you send us by email or in-app.
- Website diagnostics: basic logs and, if enabled, privacy-friendly analytics to understand site performance and errors.
How we use your information
- Provide and improve the app (creating invoices, summaries, exports, sync).
- Show subscription status and manage access to Pro features.
- Respond to support requests and fix issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
Where your data lives
We use trusted providers to run SoleTradie:
- Firebase (Google) for hosting, databases, and authentication (as applicable).
- RevenueCat for managing in-app subscriptions and entitlements.
- Apple App Store / Google Play for payments and purchase records.
- Email for support communications.
These providers may process data in multiple regions outside Australia. We require them to use appropriate security safeguards.
Security
- Transport security (TLS) is used for data in transit.
- Our cloud providers encrypt data at rest.
- We minimise the data we store and restrict access to authorised personnel only.
No internet service is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
What we don’t collect
- We don’t store your full payment card details (purchases are handled by Apple/Google).
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We don’t track precise location.
Retention
We keep your data for as long as you use SoleTradie or as needed to provide the service. You can delete invoices, expenses, clients, and logos from within the app. If you stop using SoleTradie, you may request deletion of remaining account-linked data (see “Your rights” below).
Your rights & choices
- Access & correction: contact us to get a copy of your data or correct it.
- Export: use in-app exports (e.g., CSV/PDF) where available.
- Deletion: delete items in the app or request account-level deletion.
- Marketing: we rarely send marketing; you can opt out anytime.
App permissions
- Photos/Media: optional, used only when you attach a logo or receipt image.
- Network: to sync and back up your data.
Children
SoleTradie is designed for business use and is not intended for children under 16.
Third‑party links
Our website or app may link to third‑party sites (e.g., store pages). Their privacy practices are separate from ours; please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. We’ll adjust the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide in‑app or site notices.
